
Anthony HadfieldTony first joined the legal profession in 1964 as a trainee Legal Executive in Rotherham. He subsequently became a Fellow of the Institute of Legal Executives before qualifying as a solicitor in 1980.
Tony has a wealth of experience in a wide range of areas of law. He joined Jones & Company in 1976, building up both the Civil and Criminal litigation departments. He has been a partner for many years, and was appointed senior partner in 2004. He now focuses on Criminal Litigation.

Matthew joined the firm from college in 1987. He qualified as a Legal Executive before becoming a solicitor in 1998. Matthew then became a Partner in 1999. Matthew is now the Managing Partner of the firm.
In addition to the above, Matthew has also taught law at Doncaster College, is a member of STEP and has previously held the position of Vice Chair of Governors at a local comprehensive school. Matthew is currently the Clerk to a local charitable Almshouse Trust and is based at our Retford office.

Andrew BevanAndrew holds a degree in Criminology which he obtained before attending London Guildhall University where he completed both the PgDL and Legal Practice Course.
He joined Jones & Company as a trainee in 2002 before becoming a Partner in 2007. Upon qualification, he practiced Criminal Law and now specialises in both Civil Litigation and Employment law. Whilst Andrew is based at the Bawtry office, he also caters for clients at the Retford and Ollerton branches.

Rhona JenkinsRhona is originally from the North East and read law at Newcastle University. After graduation she initially worked in the coal industry and then in adult education before qualifying as a solicitor in 1993. She worked in South Yorkshire until 1998 when she joined Jones & Company and became a partner in 2001.
Rhona specialises in Family Law and Personal Injury. She is an Accredited Specialist with both the Law Society Family Panel and Resolution (formerly known as the Solicitors Family Law Association) and deals with all aspects of Family law including divorce, separation, financial issues and children matters.
In addition, Rhona is a member of APIL (Association of Personal Injury Lawyers) and can advise on all types of Personal Injury claims, including accidents at work, road traffic accidents, tripping and slipping cases etc. Rhona is based at the Retford office.

Emma ThompsonEmma was born in the North East but moved to North Nottinghamshire over 15 years ago. She qualified as a Solicitor in 2007 after completing her LLB (Hons.) Law Degree and post graduate Legal Practice Course at Newcastle University. She joined Jones & Company as a Trainee in 2005 before becoming a Partner in 2009.
She now specialises in Land law and Property matters, both residential and commercial and heads the Property department accross the firm. Emma has a great enthusiasm and interest in the area of work in which she deals. She is based at the Retford office.

Philip ArmstrongPhilip is the Head of the Wills, Probate and Trust Department of the practice and is based at the Bawtry office. Originally from Tynemouth, Northumberland he has practised locally his whole career, joining the Doncaster based firm Attey Bower & Jones in 1975. Philip Joined Jones and Co from Atteys Solicitors in July 2012.
He has responsibility for all aspects of the department’s work and supervision of all it's members. He specialises in Estate Administration, Court of Protection work, Wills and Inheritance Tax Planning, and Powers of Attorney. He is a Registered Trust and Estate Practitioner, being a full member of the Society of Trust & Estate Practitioners (STEP), a Member of Solicitors for the Elderly, and has recently been added to Mencap's list of Wills and Trusts Professional Advisers.
Outside of the office he has a keen interest in voluntary work which has involved him over the years being secretary to the South Yorkshire Police Volunteer Police Cadets, Secretary to the South Yorkshire Police Credit Union, District Officer for South Yorkshire Special Constabulary for which he received a Chief Officers Certificate of Commendation. He has also been an Independent Member of the Standards Committee for Doncaster Metropolitan Borough Council.

Anna LittlewoodAnna grew up in the Retford area before studying law in Nottingham and completing the Legal Practice course at the College of Law in York. She completed her training contract with Jones & Company before qualifying in 2004.
Anna deals with Commercial and Residential conveyancing and Landlord and Tenant matters. She is based at the Retford office and assists the Partner heading the department, Matthew Sharpe.

an PridhamIan qualified as a solicitor in 1986. He worked at various law firms in the Nottingham area doing all types of litigation. In 1999 he joined the local firm of Jackson Quinn at their Worksop office specialising in Criminal law before joining Jones & Company in March 2007. Ian has been a duty solicitor since 1988 and regularly appears in Worksop and Mansfield Magistrates court. He is also a duty solicitor covering police stations.

Nikki JonesNikki grew up in a rural village just outside of Retford and after completing for both her LLB (Hons) Law Degree and Legal Practice Course in Sheffield, she qualified as a Solicitor in January 2007.
Nikki completed her training contract with another local firm where she practiced both Residential Conveyancing and Commercial Property for over four years. She joined Jones & Company in April 2011 and now continues to practice both Residential Conveyancing and Commercial Property from the Ollerton office.

Catherine RichardsonCatherine was brought up in Sheffield and gained a History Degree at the University of East Anglia before going on to The College of Law in London. She completed her training at Jones & Co (then Jones Alexander & Co) some 30 years ago, qualifying in 1978. After partnership in local firms including Mee & Co and Richmonds she has recently come full circle, returning to the office where it all started!
Catherine’s area of work is Personal Injury Claims of all types from simple road traffic accidents to catastrophic injury claims. She is a member of the Law Society Personal Injury Panel.
Types of claims include disease claims, fatal accidents, clinical (medical) negligence claims. All claims are considered for a No Win No Fee Agreement (Conditional Fee Agreement). Her other area of work is Civil Litigation of all types such as landlord and tenant disputes, consumer problems, partnership disputes, property disputes, contract disputes.

Jane McCullochJane studied French at Nottingham University, before training as a lawyer and qualifying as a solicitor in 1987. She has specialised exclusively in family law since 1988, and joined Jones & Co in 2011.
Jane is a member of Resolution, a group of family lawyers who are committed to the constructive resolution of family disputes. She was a member of Resolution’s national committee from 2003 to 2009, and chaired the organisation from 2007 to 2008.
Jane is accredited by Resolution as a specialist family lawyer, particularly in dealing with financial issues and pensions on relationship breakdown. She is also a trained collaborative lawyer. Jane deals with all aspects of family law, and is based in the Bawtry office.

James is the Head of the Dispute Resolution Department and is based at the Bawtry office. Originally from Essex, James completed his legal education in York in 1996 and has lived and worked in Yorkshire ever since.
On qualification, James worked for Atteys solicitors where he became salaried partner, head of their Sheffield branch and then head of their Dispute Resolution Department before joining Jones & Co in March 2013. James and his team can assist you in resolving a wide range of disputes including: property disputes, Landlord & Tenant claims, Inheritance/Probate disputes, contractual disputes, negligence claims, debt actions, partnership disputes, insolvency claims, shareholder disputes and consumer claims.
He is experienced in all forms of Alternative Dispute Resolution including negotiation, mediation, arbitration and adjudication.

Will holds a Business Degree which he obtained before attending Nottingham Law School where he completed both the Graduate Diploma in Law and Legal Practice Course with Distinction. He worked as a paralegal in Lincoln specialising in employment and criminal law before joining Jones and Company in 2010 to start his training contract. Will qualified as a Solicitor on 2012.

Vanda BarnardVanda has practised in the local area for 30 years, initially completing her articles with Michael Browne at Mee & Co in Retford. She then went on to set up her own practice in Newark, before working for a large regional firm at partnership level. Vanda has returned to her roots in Retford and joined Jones & Co in 2013. She will specialise in residential and commercial property.

Michael BrowneMichael Browne qualified in 1965 and has spent all his professional life practising in Retford. He was a partner with the old established Retford firm of Mee and Co that became Richmonds in 1989. He was a Managing Partner and then Senior partner for a number of years becoming a Consultant in 2005.
Michael joined Jones and Co as a Consultant in 2009. He specialises in Property matters and until recently was a Deputy District Judge in the County Court having been appointed in 1986 and is also a Chartered Arbitrator and accredited Mediator. He was for many years involved in the Territorial Army achieving the Senior post at the time of Brigadier, advising the Army Chain of Command on Reserve matters. He is Chairman of the Bassetlaw Action Centre, a charity supporting elderly people in the area.

Stephen DunnStephen Dunn is an experienced probate executive, specialising in wills, capital tax planning, probate and mental capacity issues, who joins Jones & Co. from Atteys solicitors in Sheffield. He is based at our Retford office.
Having originally studied for a Business Studies Diploma, Stephen later turned his attention to Geology and completed his Earth Science degree. Stephen went on to work at Santander for 15 years before deciding to put his knowledge of dealing with complex financial matters into practice within the legal industry.

Pam GeorgePam was a 'late starter' to the legal profession after having children. In the late 1970's Pam commenced her career at Walker & Son in Bawtry. She later moved to Retford in 1985 to become what was then locally a pioneering move as a stand alone Residential conveyancing fee earner.
After 21 years, in 2006 Pam moved back to her roots in Bawtry to join Jones & Company, then new to the town, to expand the conveyancing department to meet the demands of the thriving local community.

Charles DayshCharles joined Jones and Company in July 2011 having completed a degree in Law at Lincoln University. Charles is studying for his Legal Practice Course part-time at Nottingham Law School.
He has strong local connections and has great enthusiasm for the work he undertakes. Charles is currently assisting Philip Armstrong in the Wills, Trusts and Probate department.

Josh joined Jones and Company in July 2012 having relocated from a local firm, to join Jones and Co’s expanding Probate and Trust Department both at Bawtry and Ollerton. Josh has gained level 2 Ilex Paralegal Studies, and is looking to the future to qualify fully, as a Legal Executive specialising within the Wills, Probate and Trust Department.
Having worked as an assistant, for the last 4 years, he is currently assisting the Firms Head of Wills, Probate and Trust, Philip Armstrong.

Mike StoneyMike is a solicitor based at the Bawtry office of Jones and Co Solicitors. Mike grew up in Beverley in the East Riding of Yorkshire before going on to gain a Law Degree at the University of Teesside and subsequently completing his Legal Practice course at the College of Law in York.
Mike started his legal career working for Andrew Jackson Solicitors, a large top rated regional firm in Hull, where he subsequently completing his training. Mike spent seven years in total working for Andrew Jackson; primarily, both before and after completing his training, in the commercial property department.
Mike joined Jones & Company in 2012 and specialises in non litigious property matters; including both residential conveyancing and all aspects of commercial property transactions from sales/purchases and leases to business sales and financing work.
